If you have a deck in your back yard then you have to learn how to preserve its look. There are many home owners who make the decision to install a deck in their yards but skip the part where they should ask the builder how to clean it. If you are one of these individuals and you forget for this little but really important condition it is not too late to fix things.
The most common problem among people who have decks is that they know how to maintain the surface of their decks regularly but have no idea how to deal with stubborn stains and mildew that appear on it. If you also experience such inconveniences, do not worry, in the lines below London cleaning professionals will share with you 2 useful cleaning recipes to fight the mildew and stains on your deck.
1. To remove mildew on your wood deck you should make a solution of ¾ cup of some dish-washing liquid, 1cup oxygen bleach and 3 quarts water. Mix the ingredients and pour the solution over the deck. Then brush with a nylon bristle brush or broom. Allow the solution to work for about 15 minutes, scrub and rinse well with clear water.
2. To remove stubborn stains caused by mould or rust on a deck just make a mixture of oxalic acid crystals, also know as wood bleach, and 3-4 litres of water. Stir well and apply to the affected areas with a stiff brush. London cleaners recommend to leave the stains with the cleaning solution until they have washed-out. At the end rinse well with water to remove the remaining bleach.
